If the Chicago Sky are to get back on a winning track tomorrow, they’ll have to do it without superstar Angel Reese.
Per Sky team reporter Karli Bell, Chicago has already ruled out Angel Reese and All-Star guard Ariel Atkins for Wednesday’s game against the Atlanta Dream (12:00 p.m. EST) due to leg injuries.
Exact details of Reese’s injury, such as its severity and when she suffered it, are unclear at this time. She had one of the best performances of her young career in yesterday’s 91-78 loss to the league-best Minnesota Lynx, recording another double-double (22 points and 10 rebounds).
Reese played all but three minutes of yesterday’s game.
The slumping Sky had won two in a row before Monday’s frustrating loss to Minnesota. At 7-14, they’re three games behind the Golden State Valkyries (10-11) for the league’s final playoff spot.
Now, Chicago must find a way to get past the 12-9 Dream (they hold the No. 5 seed) without Angel Reese. The Sky lost the first two regular-season meetings to Atlanta, on June 13 and June 22.

Amid a frustrating year for the Sky, Angel Reese has put together an excellent sophomore season that culminated in another All-Star game selection. Reese will be on Team Collier, captained by Minnesota superstar Napheesa Collier, and go up against Caitlin Clark.
The 23-year-old Angel Reese is averaging 14 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest over 21 games.
