As anticipated, Donald Trump was quick to respond.
A notable occurrence
On Tuesday, Joe Biden delivered his first public address since leaving the White House at the Advocates, Counselors, and Representatives for the Disabled conference in Chicago. This event was highly awaited, as many were eager to hear Biden’s reaction to the relentless criticisms from Donald Trump.
Trump has made it a routine to hold Biden accountable for various issues, including inflation, soaring food prices, and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. He frequently labels Biden as “the worst president the U.S. has ever had” during his press conferences. Thus, it was only a matter of time before Biden chose to retaliate.
In a significant break from the unspoken tradition of silence maintained by former presidents, Biden openly condemned Trump’s approach to Social Security.
“They want to allow Social Security to expire every five years—this was a proposal—unless Congress reauthorizes it. Who do they think they are?”
He also criticized his predecessor for increasing the debt ceiling after what Biden referred to as a “profligate tax” cut benefiting the ultra-wealthy.
“The last time this individual held the position, he raised the debt ceiling due to an extravagant and excessive tax cut for the super-rich.”
Passionate rebuttal
Unsurprisingly, Donald Trump did not delay in addressing Joe Biden’s remarks. Staying true to his straightforward approach, he responded promptly.
In a passionate post shared this morning (April 16) on Truth Social, Donald Trump targeted his political adversaries once more, directly calling out Joe Biden. Trump did not hold back, labeling “Sleepy Joe Biden” as “THE WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES.”Trump’s remarks were part of his persistent campaign against crime and illegal immigration. He specifically criticized President Biden’s approach to border security, alleging that Biden’s policies have permitted “millions and millions of criminals”—including murderers, drug traffickers, and individuals released from correctional facilities and mental health institutions—to enter the United States, attributing this to what he termed the “dangerous and ill-conceived Open Border” policy.
Trump further asserted, “Sorry, but it’s my job to get these killers and thugs out of here. THAT’S WHAT I GOT ELECTED TO DO. MAGA!”
In his statement, Trump also referenced his recent position on the potential deportation of U.S. citizens convicted of violent offenses, should a legal avenue be identified, as part of his ongoing efforts to combat crime.
Moreover, Trump did not hold back in another post where he addressed former President Barack Obama, who had criticized Trump’s decision to cut $2.3 billion in funding to Harvard University. Trump targeted the institution, stating, “Harvard has been hiring almost all woke, Radical Left, idiots and ‘birdbrains’ who are only capable of teaching FAILURE to students and so-called ‘future leaders.’”
“Harvard is a JOKE, teaches Hate and Stupidity, and should no longer receive Federal Funds. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump concluded.
As the political confrontation between these figures escalates, it is evident that their exchanges are unlikely to diminish in intensity. Will Biden respond to Trump once more?
