Julia Roberts, known for her wide smile and long legs, has established herself as one of America’s most bankable stars.

However, while filming alongside Ewan McGregor, the 44-year-old appeared unrecognizable compared to the actress who gained fame as Vivian Ward in the 1990 classic Pretty Woman.

Stripped of makeup and dressed in unflattering attire, Julia underwent a remarkable transformation while shooting emotional scenes for August: Osage County in Bartsville, Oklahoma. On set, Julia Roberts and her co-star Ewan McGregor were engaged in filming their latest project, August: Osage County.

An emotional performance: The brunette actress presented a poignant portrayal. The screen star, who is a mother of three with her husband, cinematographer Daniel Moder, wore a white shirt layered over a cream top, paired with relaxed blue jeans.

Her long brunette hair was styled simply for her role as Barbara Weston, a character in a family that navigates their differences when their alcoholic father goes missing.

In a gripping scene, Ewan grasped Julia’s hand with eager anticipation as they approached a boat dock to identify a deceased body alongside a Sheriff.

The actress, known for her role in Pretty Woman, appeared somewhat unkempt while filming a dramatic scene in which they had to identify a deceased individual with the Sheriff.

Upon discovering the body, Julia was overcome with emotion, weeping as she sought solace in the embrace of Ewan’s character, Bill Fordham.

Despite her intense distress during the scene, Julia was seen laughing heartily in between takes. She was joined by Julianne Nicholson, who seemed to be sharing a humorous observation with the group.

In a departure from her typical style, she donned jeans and layered tops for her portrayal of Barbara Weston.

The Boardwalk Empire actress also opted for a more conservative outfit, featuring a blue shirt and brown flared trousers, with her hair styled in a ponytail. Other notable actors in the 2013 film include Benedict Cumberbatch as ‘Little Charles Aiken’ and Meryl Streep as Violet Weston.

According to the IMDb page for the film, Renée Zellweger and Andrea Riseborough were both considered for a role.

Although Riseborough was initially cast, she withdrew due to scheduling conflicts, leading to Juliette Lewis stepping in as Karen Weston. Chloë Moretz auditioned for the part of Jean Fordham but ultimately lost the role to Abigail Breslin.

The group seemed to find humor in their collaboration with Julianna Nicholson.
